The auction raised an incredible sum for the charity ClientEarth, an environmental law charity, with The Black Strat setting a world record for an instrumental when it sold for nearly $4 million.
This edition of Phil Taylor's illustrated book summarizes the entire history of the instrument, from its origins to just before the recent auction.

Publication on Record Store Day, the day of independent stores, the 12" single from Interstellar Ovedrive, this being considered an official release, since it is Released under the Pink Floyd Records label and is mastered by Andy Jackson, Pink Floyd engineer and David Gilmour at Air Studios, accompanied by Tube Mastering and Ray Staff.
It is a never released recording, which was originally recorded on October 31, 1968 at the Thomson Recording Studio in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire and was used in the 1968 documentary San Francisco, directed by Cambridge native Anthony Stern.
The vinyl has a postcard inside with a photo of the four members of the band at that time, Roger Waters, Syd Barrett, Rick Wright and Nick Mason. A 54x39 cm poster is also included.
The creative director of the cover is Aubrey Powell, designed by Peter Curzon and the image corresponds to images taken at the UFO Club in London, on January 13, 1967, directed by Peter Whitehead.
