The book consists of 304 fully illustrated pages and is written by authors such as Jon Savage, Howard Goodall and Rob Young and is edited by Victoria Broackes_cc781905-5cde-3b91 -136bad5cf58d_, Senior Curator and Head of Exhibitions of the Department of Theater and Performance at the V & A Museum.
The Victoria & Albert Museum in London has announced the first major international retrospective of Pink Floyd, one of the world's most avant-garde and influential bands. To celebrate 50 years since the band released their first single Arnold Layne, and with over 200 million record sales, The Pink Floyd Exhibition Their Mortail Remains is going to be an unprecedented audio-visual and spectacular journey through the unique and extraordinary worlds of Pink Floyd; the chronology of the music, design and staging of the band, from their debut in the 1960s to the present day._cc781905-5cde-3194 -bb3b-136bad5cf58d_The exhibition marks the first collaboration in decades of the remaining members of Pink Floyd and is promoted by Michael Cohl For Iconic Entertainment Studios. Tickets open go on sale at 10 on the morning of Wednesday, August 31 from the V&A and other ticketing partners.
The exhibition will celebrate Pink Floyd's place in history and how the cultural landscape has changed throughout the 1960s and beyond. Pink Floyd occupied a distinctive experimental space and were the most prominent exponents of a psychedelic movement that changed the understanding of music forever. They became one of the most important groups in contemporary music.
Pink Floyd have produced some of the most iconic images in popular culture: from pigs flying over Battersea Power Station, el prisma from The Dark Side Of The Moon, cows, from the march_cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_de hammers to the giant inflatable masters; his vision brought to life creative individuals such as modern surrealism del_cc3de-5b54c19-5b194c19 -136bad5cf58d_long-time contributor Storm Thorgerson, the satirist illustrator Gerald Scarfe and the pioneering psychedelic lighting of Peter Wynne-Wilson.
It will feature the Sennheiser sound experience, as well as never-before-seen concert footage, a laser show, and more than 350 objects and artifacts including instruments, handwritten lyrics, posters, architectural drawings, and artwork created by Aubrey Powell 'Po' and Storm Thorgerson of the legendary creative team Hipgnosis.
The exhibition will also mark the anniversary of Games For May, the concert given at Queen Elizabeth Hall, where they were allowed to transfer their psychedelia, openly, to the establishment of a cultural milieu on London's South Bank.

The exhibition is curated for the V & A by a team led by Victoria Broackes alongside Aubrey Powell 'Po' of Hipgnosis, the creative director of Pink Floyd, and Paula Stainton. The curators have worked on collaborating closely with Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Nick Mason and the Richard Wright circle on the content of the exhibition, which is being designed by Stufish, the world's leading entertainment architects and longtime set designers for Pink Floyd.
The Exhibition opens from May 13 to October 1, 2017 for a period of 20 weeks.

The Pink Floyd Exhibition The Mortal Remains performed at the V&A in London, which will host the band's major retrospective in spring 2017, having Nick Mason as master of ceremonies.
The facade of the museum building is highlighted by a pig, floating above the roof as a reference to one of the band's most famous visual creations, the cover of the 1977 album Animals,_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_as a statement of intent on the magnitude of the exhibition, which follows the global success of the last David Bowie exhibition.
Nick Mason said he was surprised that he and the remaining members were still doing things together after 50 years.
"If you told me that we would still exist. even four years after we started professionally I would have been shocked. Now I feel like something that belongs to the National Trust._cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_I think we're going to be able to do things that we hopefully have never seen or heard of before."
Martin Roth, the director of the Victoria & Albert Museum, a Pink Floyd fan, said the band is a "great British success story", while Victoria Broackes describes Pink Floyd as a "great fit for a museum so dedicated to art, design and performance.
For his part, Nick Mason had been concerned if there would be enough interesting material to include in the series, but "That turned out to be completely wrong," he said. "I can't tell you how many things They don't fit here"

At 12 noon (UK time) a press conference was held at the May Fair Hotel in London with Roger Waters, Nick Mason and Aubrey Powell announcing_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_The Pink Floyd Exhibition which will be held from May 13 this year at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
In a series of questions they have answered some such as playing together again, to which Mason and Waters seemed quite excited to perform at the Glastonbury festival.
About it Mason commented: "It would be nice to add it to the list of things. I have never played Glastonbury. It would be fun to do, although I think not_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_would be very likely."
Waters that he did perform at that festival pointed out: "I performed at Glastonbury once. It was very cold, but there were a lot of people and he seemed very happy and I liked it . Yes, I would do it again."
A meeting that would have to have the opinion of David Gilmour.
"Last I heard, David had retired," Waters said.
"I heard he retired, then he seemed to come out of retirement," Mason said.
Asking if the time was right to celebrate his career, Mason shrugged: "We're all starting to feel our age and it may not be for much longer."
The exhibition will consist of 350 objects, including posters and different instruments and items used on their tours, such as inflatable pigs and different drawings painted by Syd Barrett. At the entrance to the exhibition there will be a replica of the Bedford van that they used to travel to their first concerts in the mid-60s.
Among the different objects will be the rod and the record book that the principal at Cambridge and County High School for Boys inflicted on his students and inspired the character of the teacher in the Wall. And as Mason comments, it seems that the late Storm Thorgerson is the one who appears most often in the book.
As well as David Gilmour's first guitar, handwritten song lyrics and even letters from Gilmour to his mother.
Mason said the letter says: "I've joined a band called Pink Floyd, don't worry about it."
Waters was asked about his thoughts on the wall that Donald Trump wants to build and if he would stage The Wall concert again.
"If there was some kind of resolution in the way that we resolve the conflict of the borders between nations, I mean the wall between Mexico and the United States, then I would do it."

Waters, who created controversy in statements during his concert in Mexico last September at the Foro Sol with statements of support for the families of the disappeared from Ayotzinapa, this time criticized Trump at the press conference.
“We are all human beings, we all need to find a way to unite, because so far we are destroying it and then as an act of celebration I would be willing to play in some symbolic space and if that is the border between Mexico and the United States the United States would do it. ”.
Mason, for his part, jokingly said that he received a cartoon with a statement from Trump: “We are going to build a wall and Pink Floyd is going to pay for it.”

Supervised by Andy Jackson, the sound engineer for the latest recordings by David Gilmour and Pink Floyd, the tests are taking place at Abbey Road Studios.

The presentation for the press and a large group of guests de The Pink Floyd Exhibition Their Mortal Remains which begins this Saturday, May 13, took place at the V&A Museum in London.
Among the attendees were familiar faces such as Jimmy Page, Noel Gallagher, Queen members (Roger Taylor and Brian May), Bob Geldof, Gerald Scarfe, Alan Parker, Guy Pratt and other celebrities who you can see in the photo album de Rex
As usual, Nick Mason has been the only member of Pink Floyd who attended this gala, we assume that Waters will now be busy finalizing his imminent tour but misses the separation due to now by David Gilmour at any recent Pink Floyd-related event, such as the launch of Pink Floyd The Early Years 1965-1972 and this exhibition.
But even stranger when last night among the attendees was his daughter Sara and especially the teenager Romany who lives under his guardianship. Anyway.
Mason made a brief presentation for the attendees and then went inside the exhibition that if all goes well we will be there in a few days. In the meantime we will settle for some photos.

David Gilmour was yesterday May 15 in a private screening accompanied by his wife, children and some friends in a private screening at The Pink Floyd Exhibition Their Mortal Remains at the V&A Museum.
Gilmour's lack of involvement in this exhibition has been widely commented on, as he has not attended any event or the opening, nor has he conducted any interviews for it, but at least, if we can add that he has recorded images and provided personal material for this event, something that can be seen in the exhibition.
