The Lockdown Sessions, the songs published by Roger Waters on YouTube in the months of confinement in the midst of Covid, with the inclusion of the new version of Comfortably Numb with which he begins the concerts of his new This Is Not A Drill tour, will be released today in LP and CD format.

Waters had the idea of publishing an album of the different encores that he did at the end of his concerts on the Us + Them tour during the years 2017 and 2018, but the beginning of the pandemic frustrated him, so during 2020 and 2021 with his support band of the last tour, performed a few songs each at home.

"Our Us and Them Tour lasted three years.

At every show we did an encore after the main show closed with Comfortably Numb, the encore was always Mother.

I don't remember why I decided to start making other songs.

Anyway, somewhere after the end of the tour I started thinking, "I could make an interesting album, all those encores, The Encores, yeah, it sounds good."

So I'm in England doing the Ginger Baker tribute concert on a Tuesday night at the Hammersmith Odeon with Eric Clapton and the following Saturday marching from the Australian Embassy to Parliament Square to give a speech in support of Julian Assange, when they don't fuck with me , Covid... Schlummmmm!"

With these words, Waters expresses his first thought that due to the pandemic he had this change that now has its presentation in physical format, although since December it has been available in digital format.
